Get active at the weekend!

Walking
Research done last year by payasUgym concluded that the last Thursday in February is the 'most active day of the year'. Now, we're not convinced one day can be singled out and we're keen to encourage your physical well-being throughout the year, so we've got a great idea to help keep you active and healthier beyond the 23rd February 2012.

Use your weekends

By the time home-time on a Friday rocks up, we're usually more than ready for the weekend. Where the opportunity allows, we're happy to lounge on the sofa, until it hits us on Sunday evening that we're back to the routine the following morning. Well, no longer; it's time to use weekends for good.

You needn't think big; perhaps decide to take a walk around your local park after breakfast on Sunday. It'll help your digestion and give your muscles a gentle workout.
If you're at home during the weekend, it's all too easy to reach for the biscuit tin for elevenses. If this is just habit, or boredom, find something to do around the house; whether it is a chore you've been putting off or an exercise DVD that's been lying around since Christmas. If you're genuinely hungry, have something light to tide you over until lunchtime.

One highlight of the British weekend is the Sunday roast. If you're going out for lunch, make sure you incorporate a walk before to build up an appetite. Or go for a stroll afterwards to make yourself feel better about the portion you've just eaten!
A couple of simple changes at the weekend could make a huge difference to your wellbeing. Take advantage of not being cooped up in an office and the slightly lighter evenings by getting active!
