Mark Goodier

Mark Goodier
Mark Goodier is one of the UK's most respected broadcasters. With a career spanning 25 years in both local and national radio Mark is a recognised authority on music and radio – in fact, for a decade he had most teenagers glued to their radio every Sunday night as he counted down the Official UK Top 40 on BBC Radio 1.

Mark lives in North London, is married with three children and presents on Smooth Radio every weekday from 10am.

Mark's career began at the age of 18 at Radio Forth in Edinburgh.  As the owner of production company Wise Buddah, Mark's understanding of radio is second to none – he is even credited with helping to devise and create the BBC's world famous Evening Session. This ground-breaking show went on to become the breeding ground for a new generation of musicians and exclusive live performances taking a risk with new artists.

Prior to joining Smooth Radio, Mark presented for BBC Radio 2 and his name became synonymous with chart shows. Following his departure from Radio 1 in 2002 - where he'd also enjoyed stints on breakfast and drivetime - he went onto host the Official Classic FM Chart Show, Smash Hits! Chart across commercial radio, and Real Radio's Real Top 40.
