David 'Kid' Jensen

David Jensen
Canadian-born David has one of the most recognisable voices in radio, with over 40 years in the industry, and working across some of the UK's biggest radio stations. He acquired the nickname ‘Kid' because he was the youngest radio presenter in Europe at the time and it has stayed with him ever since.

His career took off in Europe when he joined Radio Luxembourg, followed by a move to the UK. A stint at BBC Radio 1 was followed by more than a decade at Capital Radio, where he became the host of the Nescafe Network Chart Show. He moved onto London's Heart 106.2 before returning to the Capital Radio Group, this time as the mid-morning presenter on its Gold network.

David is closely associated with motor racing, having run his own race winning team, "Kid Jensen Racing" (Formula 3000 and Formula Opel) and has appeared on dozens of motor racing programmes on ITV, Sky Sports and Channel 4 and his youngest son Viktor has been a highly-rated driver.

In 2010 he became a Freeman of the City of London through his charity work and was inducted into the UK Radio Hall of Fame. He is a huge fan of Crystal Palace and is Chairman of the Crystal Palace F.C. Vice-President's Club.

David is married to wife Gudrun and they have three children.

David presents the Smooth Drive Home every weekday from 4pm and the Double Top 20 show every Sunday at 6pm.
